With the updated statutory guidance for careers finally being released, this week we are mostly focusing on the our plans to support you with the implementation of this, along with some key dates, new resources and info on ILRs and peer to peer reviews.

Updates Statutory Guidance

The guidance makes it clear that from September 2025 DfE expects all institutions should adopt the updated benchmarks. It also places a great deal of emphasis on meaningful and reducing barriers.

The Benchmark 6 section confirms the governments intention to introduce two weeks worth of work experience0 across key stages 3 and 4 and makes it clear that from September 2025 schools should begin planning towards this.

At the moment we are taking time to absorb the guidance and will be feeding back on key takeaways and actions at our briefings after half term. In the mean time have added a bit of a visual below.
