Adding a volunteering opportunity to our Careers Hub Website

It has been great to see the variety of career learning opportunities taking place across the South Midlands! We though it would be helpful to share some feedback and tips on how to make your volunteer requests stand out.

  • Increase engagement by adding a photo from a previous event or if not your school/college logo
  • Remember to ensure you give enough information and a full description of the activity easily understood by someone outside of education
  • Offer flexibility where possible for volunteers that may not be available for the duration of the event
  • Volunteers love to feel valued, include how them volunteering will impact students
  • Don’t forget to proof read your content
  • Add events as far in advance as possible

Show your appreciation by capturing volunteers in a photo and or sharing some student/staff feedback on the impact they have had. We now produce a termly newsletter for our volunteers and this type of content would really help encourage more volunteers. Please share any potential content with your Careers Consultant or email careershub@southmidlands.org.uk
