Compass+ and FSQ

To support you with completing your termly Compass+ self-evaluation, we have created guidance documents with up-to-date information, resources and key considerations to help you complete your evaluation with confidence.

You can also source additional guidance below using the following resources:

Use Compass+ to benchmark, manage, track and report on your institution’s careers provision at individual learner level. It’s available to most secondary schools, special schools, sixth forms and alternative provision in England.

If you are currently using Compass (also known as Compass Classic), you can login to your Compass account and upgrade to Compass+.

The Future Skills Questionnaire (FSQ) is a tool to measure learners’ career-readiness. The FSQ covers key aspects of knowledge, skills and attitudes that are important for successful transitions.

The FSQ is embedded into Compass+, and allows you to effectively measure learners’ career-readiness. Simple data insight can support you to make targeted interventions, evaluate your careers programme and identify the impact of careers education in your setting.

The questions are mapped against the Gatsby Benchmarks, learning outcomes from the CDI framework and the Skills Builder framework for essential skills.

Over 12,000 young people across the South Midlands completed the FSQ in 2024/25, giving those schools delivering it a fantastic insight into the career readiness of their students and the longer term impact of their careers programme.

Interested in delivering the FSQ with your students but don’t know where to start?

Compass+ and FSQ webinars run regularly throughout the year, sign up here where you can also view recordings of past webinars.
