We are inviting volunteers to attend our Mock Interview on Tuesday 24th November as part of our Year 10 Careers Day. Students will be picking from 4 entry level jobs which will provide a brief job description and some sample questions. One-by-one students will be called up by the volunteers to take part in their mock interview before receiving simple feedback about their performance. This is about developing students’ confidence and providing a safe learning environment to experience interviews supporting their personal development for the future.

We’d like to invite you to the Samuel Whitbread Academy Careers Fair on Thursday, November 12th,
2026.
We’re hosting this event for our students aged 14-18 to provide them with invaluable opportunities to
discuss their career aspirations directly with professionals like you. Our goal is to showcase the diverse
range of career paths available in today’s society, and we sincerely hope you’ll be able to attend. We’re
inviting companies, further education providers, universities, and institutions to cover a wide spectrum of
options.
The evening will run concurrently with our Sixth Form Open Information Evening, creating a very busy and
engaging atmosphere. Over 1600 students, along with their parents and carers, will be seeking guidance on their next steps after GCSEs or A Levels, exploring options such as apprenticeships, college, or university.

We will be conducting Year 10 Mock Interviews on Monday 25th and Tuesday 26th January 2027. The sessions will run from 8.30am – 12.30pm. We are seeking external professionals to conduct the interviews for our students to give them a taste of a real interview. Questions and guidance will be provided. Each interview slot will be about 20 minutes to allow time for questions and feedback. This is a fantastic opportunity for our students to experience what a real interview will be like to help prepare them for their future work experience placements and Post 16 interviews.

We invite employers to host a stand at our our annual Careers Festival. The aim is to inspire and share your knowledge and opportunities with our students in years 9-13, to help them navigate their way through various post 16 and 18 choices including FE, HE, apprenticeship and employment. Free parking on site and refreshments and lunch provided throughout the day, along with being welcomed by friendly faces in our Academy. This event always proves to be very popular with our students as they love to engage and be inspired by external visitors / employers.
